Our Pumpkin Patch Photos

The last couple of years we haven't been able to get "pumpkin patch" pictures like we had before. The patch we were going to in Eagle Pass had not been up to the fullness they had before and the photos just weren't as good. We've been wanting to grow our own patch, but instead set up this one at the restaurant with pumpkins that mom and Howard got a couple of weeks ago.

It's not easy to get all the cousins to get with the program, though. The age ranges from 12 to 1. There are three photographers, too. So no one is ever looking in the same direction. Most of the kids have been trained, but Oscar and Gavyn are still not getting with the program! It's okay, I guess. There will be plenty of photo opportunities. And in the end, the photos of them being silly are more fun!

Almost Halloween

It's only a few days until Halloween, but the kids are more than ready. The Chamber held a costume parade today from the post office to the Baptist Church. Melissa dressed as a pumpkin, Howard as a scary guy, David as Bumblebee from Transformers, Diego as Batman, and Oscar as a scarecrow. They did really well walking the whole way, except for Oscar who sat in his stroller while Melissa pushed him.

Bad Boys of Football

I don't have little boys anymore - they are MEN!

Howard and David had their first midget football game this past Saturday, September 27 against the Asherton Trojans. I had seen them in their football gear for a couple of weeks already, for practice. But seeing them fully decked out in their jerseys and pads and playing against another team really set in that they are growing up.

I sat on the sidelines with the #1 fan - Oscar - who didn't pay one bit of attention to his brothers on the field. He wanted to be entertained with whatever I could give him. He ended up having some gatorade and chips. It lasted for a while and I got some photos totally worthy of any football magazine.

When I look at this photo, I love that Howard is so into helping his younger brother, David. They are typical brothers, fighting if given the chance, but I know that David loves Howard so much and Howard loves his brother, too.
